On December 19th, we will be having a class Holiday party in the morning and a sockhop in the afternoon!
For part of the morning the Grade 8’s will be having a holiday party in which we will have 4 activities: (1) Rock Band, (2) Dance Dance Revolution, (3) board games, and (4) construction of gingerbread houses. We will be enjoying some light refreshments as well.
The gingerbread houses will be made out of graham wafers and icing (perhaps not so nutritious but lots of fun!). We thought it would be easiest if we purchased the ingredients and candy decorations ourselves. Consideration will be given to those students with peanut and treenut allergies. In order to purchase these items, we are asking those students wanting to participate to bring in a toonie to help cover the cost.
Also, there will a “Snowball Sockhop” for the grade 7 and 8 classes during the afternoon. There will be a $3.00 admission and students are encouraged to donate a canned food item. There will also be an option to have a holiday picture taken for $2.00, with $1.00 being donated to charity.
We’re going to have a busy day on Friday but a fun day of celebrating, working together and getting in the festive winter holiday mood!
Deadline for toonie is Monday, December 15th.
Happy Holidays from the Grade 8 Staff!
